The less fitted organisms  are selected against  by selection pressure, and they fizzed out.

The fitted organisms, reproduced to increases in population, with subsequent increase in  the population of their offspring,who inherited the resistant allele from them (parents) and therefore  dominated the population.After sometime their population   evolved in the environment.
