Explanation:

The chlorofluorocarbons or CFCs are the hydrochlorofluorocarbons that are fully or partially halogenated with the chlorine and fluorine as halogen. It is a volatile derivative of methane, propane and ethane.

The fluorides and chlorides reacts with the oxygen present in the ozone layer present in the stratosphere of the atmosphere. This may lead to the disintegration of the ozone layer and results in the formation of a hole. The ozone layer basically function in prevention of incident radiations like UV and infrared coming from the sun. Due to such damage the rays will enter the earth atmosphere and likely to affect the organisms in the biosphere. These radiations are capable of causing instead mutations which may lead to skin cancer.
