Overload signifies towards the amount of resistance or load, giving a greater load or stress on the body than it is usually accustomed to in order to better the fitness. The Overload principle refers to a basic sports fitness exercise notion like if the goal of the soccer player is to better the strength of the upper body, then he or she would perform the workouts of the upper body till the objective gets achieved.  

The principle of progression signifies that one should progress overload, which can be done by utilizing FITT (frequency, intensity, time and type) when the body gets used to its current schedule. The specificity principle signifies that only targeted activities will encourage particular health objectives.
