It is true that trawling affects the marine life adversely but it does not introduces invasive species into the environment.  

Trawling is a commercial activity which is done across the seabed to catch fish and other seafood. Due to this, the sea bed gets un-stabilized and pollutants that remain trapped in the sea bed are released which negatively affect the local marine life and ecosystems. Some of the problems caused by trawling are as follows -  

a)Sloughing and scraping of sea floor

b)Suspension of pollutants from the sea bed thereby impacting the seafloor fauna

c)destruction of species which are not even targeted

d)Enhanced organic loading on the sea bed  

e)Reduction in diversity and biomass
