Where do light dependent reactions take place

Explanation:

In the process of photosynthesis, light dependent reaction occurs inside the thylakoid membrane known as lumen of the chloroplast. In light dependent reaction, light is captured by thylakoid membrane present on the chloroplast.

Some integral membrane protein complexes are present in the thylakoid membrane that helping in catalyzes the light reaction. There are 4 major complexes are present in the thylakoid membrane:

1) Photosystem I.

2) Photosystem II.

3) Cytochrome b6f complex.

4) ATP synthase.

These four types of protein complexes are working together to form the products ATP and NADPH.

In this process mainly light absorption, oxygen release, dividing of molecules and formation of high energy molecules such as ATP ad NADPH occurs.
