Compare and contrast the traditional classification and the modern classification (cladograms)

Traditional classification is based on external similarities between organisms. ie organisms like fungi and plants were often classified in one taxon due to the similar habitats and sessile lifestyle. but in fact they are not related at all (actually fungi are suprisingly close to animals).
modern classification is based on genome comparison. analyzing genomes helps to understand and recreate phylogeny and evolutionary development of the organisms - and, as a result, find relations between the taxons.
