Explain the function of the circulatory and the lymphatic system and how they work together.

 •CIRCULATORY SYSTEM

The circulatory system moves blood around the body through a network of veins and arteries, using the heart as a pump. This is how nutrients and oxygen are moved around the body and waste materials are filtered out. The circulatory system also includes the lymph glands, which move disease-fighting elements around the body.

The lymphatic circulatory system works within the blood circulatory system to make sure these elements get where they need to be, so it is part of the circulatory system but does more than just move blood through the body.
