Land and Sea breezes are phenomena which occur through the heat transfer process of convection.

Sea breezes occur mostly during the hot summer afternoons because of the unequal heating of land and water. During the day, both the land and sea receives equal amounts of heat from the sun, but,  the land surface heats up faster than the water surface. Therefore, the air above the land becomes heated up more and is warmer than the air above the ocean. The air above the land to become less dense and as result, the warm air rises into the atmosphere.  However, at the ocean surface, the air above is is colder and hence, denser than the warm air over the land surface. Thus, the air pressure at the ocean surface is greater than at the earth's surface. As the warm air over the land is rising, a convection current is set up and the cooler air over the ocean flows with the aid of the wind and replaces the warm air from earth's surface. This is known as sea breeze.
