The carbon dioxide from fossil fuels acts is the same as the carbon dioxide that we breath out... Why does burning fossil fuels cause global warming if breathing doesn't? The carbon in fossil fuels is very very old. The carbon that we breath out is much newer.
The carbon in fossil fuels was unable to reach the atmosphere until humans dug it up. The carbon we breath out was already moving around on the surface.
Plants don't like to absorb the carbon that comes from fossil fuels. However, plants love to use the carbon that we breath out.
For some reason the carbon from fossil fuels is stronger than the carbon that we breath out.
