Please help biology!

Hello. I'm follicle cell, a cell that along with other 20 types of other cells, make up the hair follicle. The hair follicle is located in the dermis, under the epidermis, and has a deep rounded portion called the bulge: this is my home where, together with my mates, we can build a new hair.

More precisely, I am a stem cell, that is, an immature cell that can mature to become a mature epithelial cell.

When mature, I have a very distinct nucleus with 46 chromosomes and a clear cytoplasm with glycogen. Thanks to my genes, i can produce several proteins to sustain the hair such as keratins, that make the hair strong, and other proteins that connect me to other surrounding cells across the plasma membrane.

The absence of follicle hair causes alopecia, loss of hair from part of the head or body.
