The particles in matter ?Well first you'll need to know the 3 states of matter,solid ,liquid,and gas .The particles in solid stay compressed or squeezed together. That's why solids stays it shape .Liquids stay a small space away from each other but slide over each other .Thats why they take the space of their container .Gas or a form of air also take the space of their container but the particles always are jumping freely far away from each other .Hope this helped you
