There are extreme regulations to be sure the radioactive waste generated by the nuclear power plants is secured. However, there have been cases of major issues and destruction when something goes wrong with storage of this waste. Nuclear energy's waste can cause a radioactive holocaust in which the radiation waste kills all living things within a 10 mile radius and destroys soil use for at least 25 years. It also causes mutations in all living things that develop after the radiation is exposed to the local environment. One facility of nuclear power can provide electricity to all of New York City including schools, hospitals, shelters, and so much more! Do you think using this form of energy is worth the risk of a waste spill? Explain your answer. 100 Points
