What role do starch and glycogen play in living things? ?

Carbohydrates may be defined as the polymers of the sugar molecules. These sugar molecules are linked together through the glyosidic linage and small molecules are released during the reaction.

The starch and glycogen are the carbohydrates that sugar molecules (glucose) linked by the glycosidic bond. The starch and glycogen are used for the excess storage of sugar molecules in the body. They plays an  storage form of energy in case of plants and animals.
