A 44y/o male presents to you complaining of fatigue, shortness of breath, pressure in his chest and weakness of around 3 month duration. As you have the patient get on the exam table you notice that even this small amount of movement causes him to get winded. You proceed to do a physical exam and find the following pertinent information: 2+ pitting edema of the lower extremities, tachycardia (rapid heart rate), jugular venous distension (JVD).
