2.3 Study the table below and answer the questions that follow.
A scientist designed an experiment to investigate the water-holding capacity of sand loam and clay soil. A soil sample of each soil type was placed in funnels lined with filter paper. 100 cm3 of water was added to all three soil samples at exactly the same time. The filtrates were collected in measuring cylinders. The result are shown in the following table.
