How does the sun produce light

The Sun produces light by a nuclear reaction and it's called fusion. As atoms of hydrogen combine to form helium, they produce vast amounts of heat and light. Sunlight appears white, but it contains a mixture of all the colors of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet.
