Erythrocytes (red blood cells)have no nucleus, mitochondria, orother organelles at maturity. Theseorganelles are ejected when the RBCenters the bloodstream, or shortlythereafter. Should this still beconsidered a cell? What will be theeffect of having no nucleus? In thesecells, the lack of mitochondria is anadvantage. Why?
