What is a vascular plant

A vascular plant is any one of a number of plants with specialized vascular tissue. The two types of vascular tissue, xylem and phloem, are responsible for moving water, minerals, and the products of photosynthesis throughout the plant. As opposed to a non-vascular plant, a vascular plant can grow much larger.

Explanation: The ferns, gymnosperms, and flowering plants are all vascular plants. Because they possess vascular tissues, these plants have true stems, leaves, and roots. Vascular tissue forms a central column, also called stele, through the plant axis for the transport of different substances. Vascular plants are said to have a true stem, leaves, and roots due to the presence of vascular tissues.
