After this, the electron  gets excited by light energy and travels through PS2 and PS1 until it gets picked up and reduces NADP+ to NADPH. As the electron travels through the system of the light-dependent reactions, it provides enough energy for H+ ions to travel from the stroma to inside the thylakoid. From here an electrochemical gradient is produced and the H+ ions travel through the enzyme ATP Synthase to produce ATP from a reaction known as chemiosmosis.
