2. DNA-DNA contains the instructions needed for an organism to develop, survive and reproduce.

3. DNA with a mutation- Mutations range in size; they can affect anywhere from a single DNA building block (base pair) to a large segment of a chromosome that includes multiple genes.

4. Nucleus- The nucleus controls and regulates the activities of the cell (e.g., growth and metabolism) and carries the genes, structures that contain the hereditary information.

5. Organism- Organisms respond to stimuli from their environment and actively maintain their internal environment through homeostasis.

6. Proteins- Your body uses protein to build and repair tissues.

7. Ribosome- Within the ribosome, the rRNA molecules direct the catalytic steps of protein synthesis — the stitching together of amino acids to make a protein molecule.

8. Amino acid - When you eat protein, your body breaks the protein down into amino acids. Those amino acids are then used to repair and grow new muscle fibers. When you consume an adequate amount of protein, your body will experience something called a positive balance of nitrogen.
