Although this time period was traumatic for many Americans, it also transformed the US identity. Think of the 1920 in contrast with the Great Depression of the 1930. Well, I think the Great Depression had a major impact on the development of American society mainly from a political point of view. There was financial panic and it was very difficult for American citizens because most of the people lost everything they had. Jobs, money, cars, and homes were some of the many things they lost during the 10-year Great Depression. This changed everything politically speaking because the people began to get demoralized and did not trust the government.
