Oligodendrocytes and Schwann Cells share the same function: producing the myelin sheath around the axons to enhance the rate of transmission between the neurons. The difference is that oligodendrocytes are located in the CNS and Schwann Cells are located in the PNS.

Satellite cells, located in the Peripheral Nervous System, mostly serve as a cushion for the neurons, to protect them from damage.
