Photosynthetic sun-basking shark: They grow to about 4 m long, are grey or brown bodied, with all of their fins being green. Their green fins have chlorophyll, so that they can convert sunlight to energy. Has a very tall dorsal fin and long upper caudal fin because of it. They still have gills but have developed the ability to close their gills so that they can “bask” on the surface of the water for up to 10 minutes without suffocating. They still consume small fish for nutrients as well. Task 1:
Decide what Kingdom and Phylum these organisms would fall under and explain your reasoning. If you feel that a new Kingdom and/or Phylum needs to be created for this organism, explain why, and list basic characteristics of your new Kingdom and/or Phylum.
