Chickens do not have a mammalian uterus in which a baby grows. Therefore, they can not shed the lining of the uterus which is what a period is. And while a period usually involves the body ridding itself of an unfertilized egg, the major component of a period is the uterine lining. The egg is undetectable. They can't be a miscarriage because that would involve a dead embryo. If an egg is unfertilized, it has no possibility of ever being an embryo to begin with. If it is fertilized, it has the POTENTIAL to be incubated and hatch and produce a live chick outside of the hen's body. It is not dead, therefore not a miscarriage. You just can't compare the two. Chickens reproduce in a different way than humans.
