Partial reinforcement schedules occur in a variety of environments both natural and man-made—they may be purposefully devised or be merely coincidental. There are differences in rates of extinction produced by CRF (relatively rapid) and PRF (relatively slow) schedules of reinforcement. Explain how resistance to extinction (slow extinction) is adaptive for wild animals (and maybe humans too)—how does this better enable them and us to survive?
