Carbon forms Covalent is bonding and Covalent compounds wwhich do not conduct electricity.Carbon has three  allotropes i.e Diamond, Graphite and Fullerenes. In diamond carbon atoms bonded together in tetrahedral lattice arrangement.In graphite carbon atoms are bonded together in sheets of hexagonal lattice.In Fullerenes ccarbon atoms are bonded together in spherical, tubular, or ellipsoidal forms.Carbon plays a major role in organic compounds.Carbon is a Tetravalency.
