Why is glycolysis considered an anaerobic process, but the electron transport chain is not

Glycolysis does not consume oxygen at any step, whereas electron transport chain requires oxygen.

Explanation:Glycolysis is a process in which glucose is breakdown in smaller forms without consuming oxygen at any of it step and hece it is a anaerobic process.However, after glycolysis kreb's cycle and electron transport chain(ETC) starts only if the cell have oxygen and mitochondria, this is because after glycolysis every process(i.e kreb's cycleand ETC) is completed in mitochondria which requires oxygen and hence ETC is a aerobic process.

Result: Glycolysis in considered anaerobic and ETC as aerobic.

Mitochondria is the cell organelle that produced the energy that is needed in the body system in form of atp, that is why it is called the power house of the cell. energy is needed by the living organisms to carry out the activities which sustain life.  if the mitochondria is destroyed atp will not be produced. if the mitochondria is destroyed, energy production will stop and the affected living organism will not have the energy to carry out the necessary life processes; this will lead to the death of the organism.
