You are performing an experiment in the lab and have reactant a and reactant b. the total mass of
both reactants before the experiment is 15.0 grams. you place the reactants in an open beaker to react
without a lid. the beaker is cold to the touch afterward. you measure the product in the container and
only get a mass of 12.4 grams. what happened to the rest of the mass?
check all statements that are true.
some of the reactants were spilled.
one of the products was possibly a gas.
some of the products changed to pure energy.
ergy.
some of the products were released to the surrounding environment.
the reactants naturally produced less product because of the elements used.
some of the atoms became smaller.
the reaction absorbed energy.

Animal bodies (and even plant bodies for that matter) are complex enough that life couldn't exist without enzymes. enzymes are usually large, complex biological catalysts that are expensive to make. enzymes speed up the rate of chemical reactions without being used up during the reaction (they can be reused many times). they are highly specific in the reactions they regulate. knowing what enzymes are and how they function, why does this explain why complex life forms could not exist if there were no enzymes.
