Give five examples of gymnosperms and their geographical locations

Gymnosperms are plants with exposed seeds which means that  the seeds are not covered by a fruit.

Pine tree is an example of gymnosperm. It belongs to the class conifers and is  usually found in the boreal forests of northern hemisphere. Pine trees have several adaptations to survive in the cold climate. The downward facing branches is one adaptation which helps it  to shed snow. Sago palm is an example of gymnosperm. It is generally used as an ornamental plant and is found in the southern part of Japan. Zamea furfiracea commonly called the cardboard plant is a native gymnosperm of eastern Mexico. Cycus circinalis or queen sago is found in southern parts of India in the wild. Encephalaratos woodii or Wood’s cycad is an endemic plant species of oNgoye forest of South Africa.
