This maltose is then further broken down into glucose in our intestine with the help of pancreatic amylase. This glucose is then absorbed in the intestine from where it enters into our blood stream with the help of which this glucose is then supplied to each tissue/cell of our body through circulation. Within the cells, this glucose is then oxidized to produce ATP and the process is known as cellular respiration. When ATP is broken down into ADP & inorganic phosphorus (Pi) energy is released.
