How are tides caused?

Tides are periodic rises and falls of large bodies of water. Tides are caused by the gravitational interaction between the Earth and the Moon. The gravitational attraction of the moon causes the oceans to bulge out in the direction of the moon.

Tides are formed by the gravitational interaction or attractive forces of the Moon and Sun’s centrifugal force(a force that acts on anything with mass) because of the Earth’s spin. The earths surface heights change when the positions of the celestial bodies change. So the moon's gravitational pull causes something called the tidal force , and the tidal force causes Earth and the water to swell out on the side closest to the moon and the side farthest from the moon.
