Water is the basic need of almost all living organism not matter they are terrestrial or water living. Almost all organisms are dependent on plants for food and plants prepare their food through the process of photosynthesis in which water is important component.

Energy is again very important factor which every single organism needs for survival. This energy is obtained from nutrients in organism's food like carbohydrates, fats and proteins and can vary from one organism to another.

A space to live and shelter is also very basic need of an organism to live on earth. This is because all organisms need a corner where they can spend their life and raise their offspring, protect themselves from environmental harshness and weather severity.

Ability to reproduce is also basic need of all organisms which ensures their continuity. If this ability wont be present in an organism its specie will be extinct and no more present on planet. This is not important for individual survival but survival of a race or specie.
