Catalase is an enzyme. When the catalase comes into contact with the hydrogen peroxide(substrate), it starts breaking it down into water and oxygen. The reaction involves: The breakdown of 2 moles of hydrogen peroxide yields into 2 moles of water and one mole of oxygen when catalyed by the enzyme catalase.
