Hydrogen plays a very significant part in the existence of stars around nebulae. A vast amount of hydrogen is needed for stars to be born. Hydrogen heats up and ignites due to a chain reaction from the collision of atoms but since there is no gravity acting upon the nebulae, it takes millions of years for the stars to exist.
