Compare and contrast goya's  the third of may, 1808  with delacroix's painting  liberty leading the people. what are the differences and similarities?

Both images are very dynamic with great detail and movement. Goya's painting is showing a battle in Madrid when Napoleons brother was attempting to be the King of Spain. Delacroix Liberty painting takes place in the 1830 nearly 20 years later and it depict the July uprising the same uprising that the play Le Misirables is based on. When King Phillip was placed on the throne of France after Napoleon. The images visually ate both split with out focus being drawn to the central character.The iconography of the Spanish rebel leader being executed is emotional and sad as people scream and weep at the act. In Liberty the same sadness and angst is seen in the back ground as Liberty stands amid the wreckage,
