The printing press was a major advancement that highly influenced the renaissance. By allowing information to flow more freely to more people, advances in literacy caused a major transformation of society. People of all classes were able to access knowledge, which led to a tremendous spread of ideas and information amongst all the people. This led to major advances in education and knowledge, both of which fueled the renaissance.
