In this TAB example you would play the a) first string, tenth fret

b) sixth string, open

c) first string, open

d) sixth string, tenth fret

B) 6th string, open

Explanation:

When you read a guitar tab, the bottom line is the top string (E) and as you progress through the strings, you go higher on the tab

so top to bottom on the tab lines it would be

EADGBE

and from the bottom to the top of the lines on the tab would be

EBGDAE

So the top string right there is the high E

the number on the line shows you what fret you place your finger on

since the number is a 0, you don't place your finger anywhere and just pluck the open 6th string.
