we have 2 sacred music examples: Gregorian Chant and a motet. We have one secular music example: a madrigal. The Gregorian Chant was composed almost 1000 years before the motet and the madrigal. Please compare and contrast these 3 pieces, addressing harmonic texture in particular. Please also answer the question: In your opinion, do the motet and the madrigal represent 1000 years' worth of evolution in musical composition compared to the Gregorian Chant?
