Customization beats standardization; art and artists stimulate us to see more, hear more, and experience moreof what is going on within us and around us; art does and should disturb, provoke, shock, and inspire; the artist can stimulate us to broaden our skills, our behavioral repertory, and our flexibility of response; the role of the arts and artists is to stimulate and legitimize our own aes-thetic sense; analysis of how the artist is trained and works can produce important insightsinto what is needed to perform and what it means to lead and manage; and lastly, most important of all, the artist puts usin touch with our creative self.
