Which technological innovation do you believe has had the greatest impact on film and why?

Technicolor by Walt Disney. I think this because color makes me feel like the movie is more real, and without color you couldn't see the blood in horror flicks  

Color was a very big milestone in film industry, as it mimics life more realistically than black and white does. but i also think that CGI (computer-generated imagery) was monumental because CGI can save lots of money on production costs. without CGI, everything is built in reality on a giant set rather than artificially creating the set through CGI. and it also just makes a film more realistic and interesting, there's just so many more possibilities.
