Soak the affected area in cool water for 5 or 6 minutes, or longer if needed.

Take acetaminophen or ibuprofen to ease the pain

Apply an anesthetic, Aloe Vera for example, to sooth the skin.

Use antibiotic ointment and wrapping it with an ace bandage or loose gauze will protect the area.
