Why is charcoal a limited drawing medium?

Charcoal is a limited drawing medium (like pencil) because you can only create artforms in a Monochromatic scale - Black (your charcoal medium) to white (or whatever color your canvas is). It has a single color value and is irreversible once used.

Start with a good stem and on the top put a kinda wiggly line into a circle connecting to the stem then draw some squiggly lines in the circle that should be about 3-2 inches long
