Look at da vinci's mona lisa. this painting demonstrates his use of which painting technique

Leonardo Da Vinci used the painting technique called sfumato technique because he wanted the painting to look real.  He used oil paints and used white and black as his base. Sfumato is softening the transition between colors so there's no harsh lines. The colors seem to blend effortlessly.
