How does synthetic cubism reference the real world

Synthetic cubism references the real world since the artists started using the technique of papier collé, they used pieces of newspaper or real objects.  They were interested in flattening the image and taking out the last traces of allusion to three dimensional space.  They wanted to add concrete and recognizable objects in their paintings.  

1. red- the color of blood

2. black- the color of the darkness in my soul

3. white- the color of the clouds

4. orange- a fruit

5. blue- the color of water
