i think that it is human to want to be recognized, but it is even more prevalent in todays society with teenagers being hungry for validation and wanting to feel "worthy" and those feelings almost always come from a place of feeling less than, which is why many teens feel like they rely on likes and followers, and the more they have, the cooler they are, when in reality, that isnt true
