The "Tariff of Abominations" was the tariff that was passed in the year 1828 on the 19th of May. The USA Congress passed this tariff. It was designed as a protective tariff that was created to protect the the industries in the Northern part of the U.S. The main objective of the tariff was to save the industries of the north of United States by taxing the goods from Europe. Thus it lead to the taxation of the consumer items.
