AP HUMAN GEOGRAPHY please help!! Being surrounded by a globalized popular culture, the existence of folk culture around the world is threatened. Popular culture creates its own set of problems for itself, challenging its sustainability.

What challenges to folk culture have been created as a result of globalization?
What problems are created by the growth of popular culture?

1.   Folk culture is having challenges like it's hard to keep traditional wear, or it's hard to maintain local landscapes. With globalization, popular culture moves in closer to folk culture, and the younger generation within the traditional folk culture want to have the items from the popular culture.

2.   It's hard to keep traditional wear because newer clothes are cheaper than the traditional dressings, or sometimes even more durable than the native or traditional wear. It's hard to keep the landscape the same with all these golfers. Golf courses take non-native grasses, adds layers of pesticides and fertilizer and harmful chemicals to the environment. Golf courses will cart in sand, drain or add water to create traps. They will add terrain, make it look 'pretty' for the golfer, let grass grow long and tall or keep it short.

claude wants to buy a car and there are a few factors that will affect the decision he makes in choosing what car he should buy. the first factor that can affect his decision regarding what car to buy can be the social and the cultural influence of the society he is living in. for example, there might be a certain car that might have a better value in the eyes of the society or in other words a better social norm regarding that car.

another factor can be personal habits. claude might need a spacious car because he might have kids or might utilize the back seat for other purposes hence a sports car (2 seated) won’t be appropriate.
