Write an argumentative essay about whether you think technology and the Internet have brought young people closer together. Use evidence from research to support your position.

here is some research and sentences to use in certain areas so you are working from nothing:
Intro: As the influence on technology increases, its effect on the younger demographic has changed. -positive: connecting with other people. Negative: exposure to harmful content and cyberbullying, privacy issues, lot of time spent on internet.
Claim: Although the internet can bring people together overlong distances, because of the constant exposure to harmful situations, and the lengthy screen usage, technology has a negative effect one younger users.
p 1: As the distractions given by the vast sea of the internet grows, younger users have spent more time on their devices than dealing with their real world responsibilities and interactions "Social media plays a big role in teen culture today. Surveys show that ninety percent of teens ages 13-17 have used social media. Seventy five percent report having at least one active social media profile, and 51% report visiting a social media site at least daily. "(AACAP) example: Ready Player One- Teens and society spent far more time way from physical people and therefore the bond between virtual friend isn't as strong.
p2: Over the internet the younger demographic is exposed by cyberbullying with can cause social problems in ones life. " It was found that 57% of the students had experienced cyberbullying at least once or twice through different types of media. Three variables were found to have significant influences on the research variables: gender, religion and sexual preferences."(Cyberbullying and its influence on academic, social, and emotional development of undergraduate students) ex: boy losing both self esteem and is negativly connected to a cyberbully. - mental state
counter: On the other hand, technology has become a way for people to interact with others that share their interests. "Social media has become a tool of social interaction and bought us closer together as a community by increasing our communication with each other and reducing the gap between us and people who are far away. It has replaced our older communication tools such as letters, telephone etc. with the fastest chats, video chats, and calls."(How Does Social Media Bring People Together?) It is understandable that technology bring people together because of its communicable benefits over older technologies. However, this easy way of communication facilitates the passage of socially harmful content such as cyberbullying.
conclusion: Therefore, even though technology has its perks by providing faster communication, technology has a negative effect on the social life of the younger generation because of the socially stunting effects on cyberbullying, and the excessive use of devices that lead to less physical or familial interactions that humans should have.
